How StageRight Helps Pepsi Center Have A Faster Conversion Process

The Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado is a multi-purpose arena that is currently home to 3 professional sports teams; the Denver Nuggets of the NBA, the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL, and the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League. In addition to these sporting events, they also host many concerts throughout the year. Needless to say, they are very busy.
When a venue hosts many different types of events that have different requirements when it comes to seating, they need a system that can convert quickly and accurately. For example, concerts may require the seating to be removed from one end to make room for the stage. This fast conversion process is made possible through telescopic seating risers.
Pepsi Center, just like other arenas that host different sports on a regular basis, faced an additional problem. Traditionally, two telescopic seating systems would be required. One for basketball games and one for hockey games. Between games, the systems would need to be switched out with one system always kept in storage. The storage requirements were very challenging.
The unique solution that we offer is a dual rise telescopic seating. Dual rise systems are able to be set at different heights to meet the needs of events that have different sightline requirements. They’re beginning to be used by more and more arenas that house hockey and basketball teams. Check out this video to see how it works.
The Pepsi Center chose to install this system to have the fast, reliable conversion and to remove the need for two separate systems Freeing up valuable storage space.
Another benefit to having a high-quality system like this is the premium experience that’s being provided to the fans. The platforms are incredibly sturdy and quiet. This allows patrons to be more comfortable and to focus on the event happening right in front of them rather than having the feel and sound of a temporary seating bleacher.
In addition to the telescopic seating, we also provided various demountable seating risers as seen in the images below.
The installation process for this project went well. Like with all of our installations, the systems were manufactured and assembled as much as they could be ahead of time to make for an extremely efficient set-up time.
After four years of service, the system is working and looking like it did the first day it was installed. Patrons are experiencing unmatched stability and comfort and the Operations Team is benefiting from efficient conversions.
